This week was interesting...I thoroughly enjoyed a migrane that started Thursday and lasted through today, but I rode Thursday and today anyway. I am sure thats why it lasted that long. In any case, I had a chance to ride with Sarah Lichtenwalner and check out the newly finished Bear Creek race course. My stomach wasnt right, but for some reason, my legs worked pretty well and we made the loop in about an hour. I figure race pace will be about 45 minutes, so Ill need to get out there a few more times. By the time I got home, though, I was thoroughly dizzy, weak, and nauseous. I collapsed about 9:30pm (usual bedtime is about midnight) and was up several times that night with all kinds of fin GI issues, and even blacked out in my bathroom at some point so had to pick myself up off the floor wondering what happened. Lovely. I went to work, suffered through the day, but began to feel marginally better as the day went on. By the afternoon, I remembered Coke used to settle my stomach as a kid (I pretty much gave up soda this year) so I had one, and it seemed to work. I ate a pretty normal dinner, but still was up all night with more GI goodness. Finally, around 5:30am I gave in and took some Immodium. And then took the second dose around 8am. Bleh. Finally my stomach settled down so I rolled out of bet at 10am to make the 11am cross clinic Mike Yozell was putting on. My somach still wasnt feeling right, but I am sooo glad I did this clinic. I learned more in the 2 hours with Mike than I have about riding in, well, I cant ever remmeber learning so much in 2 hours. I learned proper dismounts, carries, remounts, cornering, bike setup, you name it. What a great experience, and even though I felt like my stomach was going to jump from my gut at times, it was well worth it. But most of all it reminded me of what a noob I am. Ride on.....
