11 hours
71 miles combined MTB/road work
NO time on the trainer
One slightly tweaked knee (but recovering nicely)
One recovering knee that is still a bit fatigued (IT band issue knee)
-3 pounds
Well folks, Im back to my racing weight from last season
already, and I think Ill
be able to keep marching towards the 180lb goal. If the weight keeps melting
off at 2-3lbs/week I will see 180lbs by March and which will time nicely with
the increasing intensity levels planned for that period. My body is adjusting
to the base workloads, but I am feeling some fatigue because of it. Good news
is Im not feeling roasted, just stretched, so that is where I think I want to
be at this point. Need to do enough work to push myself, but keep it just on
this side of injured/sick/burned out.
Next week will probably be one of my biggest volume weeks
ever. No, Im not talking about the times where we have done MTB camping trips
where we would be in the woods for 6-8 hours each day for 3+ days…those rides
were filled with resting and eating and sightseeing. No, I am talking about
real training time where I am doing real ‘work’ riding to improve, so here it
comes. The only thing that may be an issue is weather, so I may be doing more hours than I want to inside. Luckily I havent had to go that route yet, but I think I may be due this week. We will see. Here we go~
-Ride fast, take
chances
